Intention

How do we deal with children who experience trauma? A question that has preoccupied us since our clinical work. In a world where mental illness is on the rise in schools and universities, we ask ourselves where does it come from? Part of the answer can be found in childhood and how much unconditional love and affection a child receives.

Little Red Riding Hood deals with psychological themes such as fears, trust, mistrust, guilt and power. All this is presented in the relationship of a naive child with the evil wolf, the grandmother and the great saviour, the hunter.

Our version of Little Red Riding Hood is intended to show a naïve child who has a terribly traumatic experience, but then finds her feet again thanks to a supportive environment. We want to focus on the emotions of this child and show him ways out of the darkness. We talk about failure. Of falling down and getting up again. Of not giving up. It's about bad things happening, things that hurt and burden. Sometimes things that are unbelievable, incomprehensible, unforgettable. That are nevertheless forgotten. And yet somehow not. Poetically and imaginatively, we tell the story of a Little Red Riding Hood who learns to communicate her feelings, to care for herself and to slowly regain trust.
